Emmie worked with Jack and Nick, the founders of Njori, over a 3-month period to support them with a strategic plan for sales and marketing and to launch their Kickstarter campaign. The Njori Tempo is a smart induction cooker that enables you to measure, monitor, and regulate temperature to compose perfect meals, every time. 

This process consisted of fortnightly coaching sessions with Emmie, a social media strategy session with Emmie’s team, and SEO and website audits.

Throughout their time working together, Emmie covered multiple areas with the founders:

This included a branding agency that helped them come up with names for their products, brand guidelines and clarity on their brand. She also advised on paid ads experts who helped raise awareness and drive sales for the Kickstarter campaign and a social media freelancer to manage all their social content.

What were your main business challenges before working with Emmie?

We had no marketing plan in place and were considering using a ‘specialist agency’ that we didn’t have full confidence in. We needed a long-term marketing strategy as well as help finding the right people to carry it out.


What was the best thing about working with Emmie? 

Total confidence in her! We felt we were in very good hands. All her contacts have been fantastic; she has demystified the whole process and made it super simple for us to understand. She is always on hand with suggestions, comments, and help.

She’s a great motivator. I don’t think I’ve ever met a harder-working person whose enthusiasm for progressing the project is contagious. 


What did you find most helpful?

The regular sessions were great. Really helpful to go over everything we were working on and to help identify any ideas or issues. Made me feel that we were on top of it all. Her network of contacts was also invaluable. Feel like we’re in great shape for the coming months!

The general demystifying of the process that I don’t know much about. Some advisors are a bit condescending and make you feel like you can’t ask potentially stupid questions, and that was not the case at all with Emmie


What results have you achieved since working with Emmie?

Achieved our Kickstarter campaign target within 24 hours of launching and overfunded to £170K!  The marketing/Kickstarter campaign has also opened up some interesting avenues for future sales strategy – retailers including Amazon reached out to us directly and we’ve been inundated with emails from Japanese companies wanting to help bring the product to Japan. 

We now have a strategy for marketing that has helped us plan and build projections for the following few years. 

Crowdfunding has been a great experience too. We’re keen to build on the community aspect so we’ve been taking note of some of the comments and have made some tweaks to the hardware, increasing the power output, and have even designed a travel case!


What are you proud of that you want to share?

Being selected as part of Wired UK’s ‘Gear of the Year’ for 2021. 

The main highlight for us has obviously been the Kickstarter campaign (reaching the target in 24 hours and overfunding to £170K) and the great feedback we had from it.


What would you say to someone thinking of working with Emmie?

Just do it. She’s excellent value and I can imagine even if you’ve been in business for a while she can still make a big difference. It’s hard to put a price on confidence, but I am so much happier now we have our whole strategy mapped out by someone who really knows what they are doing.
